CASA VIEJA LODGE
GUATEMALA
Visited May, 2011

Took off on a three day road trip to visit old friend Capt. Ron Hamlin and to get a feeling for his life on the Central America, Pacific side of the world. Photos include an outing with Ron's family to the old city of Antigua (1500's) and Jim Turner's fishing lodge named Casa Vieja. Also ran into the gang from Marlin University as they were finishing up their fishing trip and were enjoying the last night of their Guatemalaian experience!

Fishermen should definately put a trip to Guatemala on their bucket list. The fishing on a poor day is catching seven or eight 100 pound sailfish and maybe a 400 lb. blue marlin! The lodge's vintage era boats are all in good condition and the crews are an experienced bunch. Casa Vieja Lodge is a first class operation with clean, comfortable AC rooms, swimming pool, liar's bar and it offers as close to a fine dining experience as is needed. Call Casa Vieja toll free at 800.882.4665 or 305.854.4665. See Website and request information Email Many thanks to Ronnie and family and Jim Turner and his staff for the enjoyable visit.
